Local Delaware BJJ Fighter Wins A 1 Hour & 52 Minute Submission Only Match!!

Josh Sachetti of the Dauntless Gym in Newark Delaware competed on July 8th, 2017 at the Good Fight Philly Challenge Submission Only Tournament in the Purple Belt 171-185 pound division.

The Good Fight organization runs BJJ “Submission Only” Tournaments where there are No Judges, No Decisions and No Time Limits. This is real Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where the only way to win a match is by submitting the other opponent.

The 171-185 lb Purple Belt Division was rich with talent that day. There were BJJ fighters from all over New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and Delaware. The Skill Pool was deep and you had to be on your game if you were going to advance to the final.

Josh Sachetti of Dauntless BJJ stepped up and won his first match against a larger, stronger purple belt who obviously had a good wrestling back ground. He tried to power through Josh, but Josh flowed around his energy to take his back and win with a Lion Choke.

In the second match Josh faced a more skilled BJJ tactician with a very advanced half guard game. The fight went back and forth for a while, but in the end Josh too took his back and won with a strong Lion Choke.

Next was the final. He Josh was to face a very skilled and strong opponent from NJMMA. Josh had actually fought this opponent and beat him at the Good Fight Dual At Delaware back in April 2017 and it looked like this guy wanted to redeem himself,

This fight was for the gold and both Josh and his competitor were masters at their games. In the Stand Up they felt things out and were very careful with their executions. It went to the ground, the guard, the turtle, back to the feet and to the ground again. What ensued next was a 1 HOUR AND 52 MINUTE expression of PURE BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU EXCELLENCE!!

Both men wanted to win and neither would give an inch. To actually fathom an Hour and 52 Minutes you had to actually be there, but suffice it to say just standing and coaching was hard, so think how much more to actually fight.

Thankfully we have all of the fight on video and it was magnificent to say the least. On you tube however we have put only the last 7 minutes. Take a look below here to see the end:
